Obesity & COVID-19 Don't Play Well Together
People with obesity (body mass index of 30 or higher) have been more severely affected by COVID-19. One research study showed that out of 22% of the patients that got hospitalized for COVID-19, about 74% were overweight or obese. Another study showed that obese people were 113% more likely than normal weight people to be hospitalized and 48% more likely to die.
